Polyethylene (PE) Wax for Color Masterbatch Polyethylene (PE) wax is commonly used as an additive in the production of masterbatches, which are concentrated colorants or additives used to impart specific properties to plastic resins.

PE wax serves several functions in masterbatch formulations:

Lubricity: PE wax acts as a lubricant, reducing friction and improving the flow properties of the masterbatch during processing. This facilitates the mixing and extrusion of the masterbatch with the polymer resin, ensuring uniform dispersion of the colorant or additive throughout the plastic compound.

Anti-blocking agent: PE wax helps prevent the masterbatch from sticking to itself or to the processing equipment during storage and handling. It creates a thin, protective layer on the surface of the masterbatch particles, reducing the tendency for agglomeration and clumping.

Dispersing agent: PE wax aids in the dispersion of the colorant or additive within the masterbatch. It helps break up agglomerates and ensures uniform distribution of the colorant throughout the polymer matrix, resulting in consistent color or property modification in the final plastic product.

Gloss enhancement: PE wax can impart a glossy finish to the plastic products when added to the masterbatch. It helps smooth out the surface of the plastic, reducing surface roughness and enhancing the overall appearance of the finished product.
